Camera App, Soomal Real-Shooting Mark, and Conclusion

Both rear-cameras and front cameras is able to take Portrait Lighting mode photos, so bokeh selfie is not just for those front dual-camera smartphones. However, although iPhone X has the TrueDepth Camera, the bokeh simulation of front camera is not as good as the rear camera, especially the accuracy.

iPhone X has the same camera UI with iPhone 8 Plus, easy to use. Portrait mode is enhanced in iPhone 8 Plus and X. Filters are updated, and can be applied in Portrait Mode. When using exposure comprehension tool, what you see may not what you get, but do not worry, because you will seldom use it. iPhone X keeps the easy-to-use and highly automatic. This time, we can finally copy and paste photos with filter, it was a disaster.

The biggest problem of iPhone X camera is the instability, that camera app would hang up every time we use in about each 200 shootings, sometimes it would hang for a minute or so, but sometimes it would deadlock, which could only be solved by restart camera app. This problem does not improve a little after updating. What was worse, iPhone X may lose photos already taken occasionally when hang up. It troubled us twice, lost dozens of photos. This is the biggest bug of iPhone camera we ever met.

Panorama mode is good enough, fast speed, large enough size, no evident trace, useful. Filters are enhanced, so we took a lot with them, and it could be better with more changes.

Not stable, we have never though this word could be applied to iPhone, that's also the reason why iPhone lost some points in experience item. Without this problem, iPhone X will easily surpass iPhone 8 Plus in SRC mark. We hope Apple to fix this bug as soon as possible.

X in iPhone X, representing 10, but it remains 8 in camera, as iPhone X uses the same technology comparing with iPhone 8 Plus, which pros and cons, such as excellent HDR, vivid colors, sometimes dirty colors, also inherent by iPhone X. What Apple do on iPhone X is just some fine tuning, such as low contrast high density lines and details, color textures. The biggest difference comes from the sub-camera, OIS helps a better performance in low light scenes. We believe consumers will have fun in using the telephoto camera.
